I am loving this Freezer Meal Series! I’ve been swapping out a baking day for a freezer meals day and it’s been working wonders! If you’re not familiar with my baking day be sure to check it out.
The idea of having gooey delicious, apple pie filling whenever I want makes me happy. We picked these apples at our local orchard, so these apples were fresh and the perfect time to prep for apple treats. You could use these in apple pop tarts, apple turnovers, apple pie, or even on top of ice cream!! Oh gosh.
Enjoy this recipe. Just thaw and use! Stay tuned for more freezer meal recipes all this month!

Ingredients:
16 cups apples, peeled and sliced thin
4 cups sugar
1 cup cornstarch
4 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. salt
8 cups water
Directions:
Prepare apples and set aside. (You could toss your apples in 4 tbsp. lemon juice, but I don’t like the taste. I just work quickly before any browning of the apples begin.)
Pour water into a dutch oven over medium heat. Combine cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Stir to combine and pour into the water, stir and bring to a boil. Let boil for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
Add apples and return to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 6-8 minutes until apples are soft. Cool for 30 minutes.
Ladle into freezer bags and let cool. Freeze for up to 12 months. You can also use right away:)
Enjoy this freezer recipe!
